SHELTON, Conn., November 2015 – EAO Corporation, a global leader for Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), announces the introduction of the new family of Series 45 Emergency Stop Switches feature a forced opening contact that offers extra safety and fool-proof operation. These e-stop switches reliably prevent damage to machinery, equipment and control systems in the event of a malfunction.  They meet all necessary international approvals and adhere to EN IEC 60947-5-5 design specifications.

In addition to fool-proof safety, the 22.5mm mounting actuators can be illuminated and are resistant to impact, vibration and shock. They meet the IP69K requirements and offer a long service life of up to 300,000 switching styles.  Once actuated, re-setting can be performed by either a twist, key, or new pull-to-release action.  Options in actuator dimensions are also new and are offered in 33.8mm, 40mm, and 60mm diameters along with plastic, metal, and a combination of metal and plastic variants.

The forced opening function of the emergency stop switch is also in compliance with DIN, EN, ISO 13850 and EN 60204-1 standards.

“Ensuring safety is something EAO takes very seriously and is a part of what we stand for,” said Joe Torzillo, Vice President of Sales, HMI Components, EAO Corporation. “These new Series 45 Emergency Stop Switches set new standards in terms of design, robustness, functionality, and safety.  The new features offered within these e-stops further enhance our award winning family of emergency stop devices and continue to embrace our core values of innovative, intuitive, and reliable switching.”

The Series 45 meets all the requirements of the world’s leading machinery manufacturers, but also makes it possible to integrate machine interfaces easily and reliably into communications platforms located at a considerable distance from the central control system.
