SHELTON, Conn., June 2016 – EAO Corporation, a global leader for Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), was recently named a bronze level winner during Appliance DESIGN’s Excellence in Design (EID) awards. The EID Awards recognize outstanding achievements in innovation, design and functionality from their readers in the products they create for consumers and businesses. EAO was recognized for its Series 84 Halo Compact.

Companies submit entries in ten different industry categories including innovation, simplicity, strong functionality for the user, and other considerations including optimized capabilities, environmental footprint, and energy- and cost-savings. The submissions are then reviewed by a panel of judges from numerous respected industry associations.

The Series 84 Halo Compact is a unique and newly developed multi-functional illumination and switching element. This innovatively designed product earned EAO a bronze award in the Category of Consumer Electronics within the Top of the Line price range and the Worldwide market due to its ability to provide the most common status indication features in a single all-in-one solution – without the need of external programming or additional electronics.  Ring illumination of up to five different colors within the lens, a separate center-mounted white LED, and optional preprogramed animation sequences of chasing, blinking, and processing all help designers minimize panel space and lessen overall production costs.

All EID winners are profiled in Appliance DESIGN’s special double-feature June issue and are hosted on their website for the remainder of the year. To learn more about the EID competition or to view a full list of winners please visit appliancedesign.com/excellence-in-design.
