With the seatback mounted SliderFLEX that holds the phone securely in either landscape or portrait mode and a table top mounted version, every seat can be provided with a charging service.

The innovative charging solution utilises a novel multi-coil inductive charger certified to the global Qi standard for iOS and Android that can charge any enabled phone wherever it’s charging interface is located – just by placing it in the SliderFLEX seatback holder, or on the table charging pad.

Wireless charging eliminates the need for cables and improves the reliability of the system, whilst the optional USB socket caters for older phones, or allows passengers to charge two devices simultaneously.

Snap-on mounting and M12 connection technology

The Smart Box is mounted without special tools, by simply snapping it onto the mounting adapter. Thanks to the M12 connection, the Smart Box is operational in an instant. You also have the option of mounting the device directly on a standard DIN rail without the mounting adapter – this gives you flexibility in terms of the number and arrangement of Smart Boxes. The Bus connection or direct wiring alows for easy system integration.

Compatible actuators and indicators from EAO

The Smart Box works best with EAO’s fully compatible Series 84 indicators, illuminated push buttons and Emergency Stop switches. Further switching options are avialable on request. The robust design, combined with front protection up to IP67 enables reliable switching at temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C (depending on the integrated products), in dirty or damp conditions, or in the event of vibration.

Individual front design with films

You have the option of adapting the front design for almost any application using a polyester film (e.g. for a customer logo or warning sign), a labelling plate, or an LED status display. If needed, EAO will integrate additional electronics functions onto a PCB or will equip and wire the Smart Box entirely in line with your preferences.

Flexible, modular design

You can individually define the size of the operator panel, the symbols and the LED colours. The flexible number and arrangement of symbols and low back panel depth of less than 8 mm make it ideal for driver’s cabs and applications with limited space for display elements.

Refined technology

For maximum safety in operation, any alarm display must be electrically independent; this also includes redundant illumination in every element. You control the display system via a Bus interface, digital inputs/outputs, CAN or other interfaces. You can easily and effectively integrate it into existing systems, and the display modules are available with dimmable illumination. The light test function with capacitive touch sensor in the alarm indicator is effective and responds immediately.

The wide selection of display symbols, grid spacing and symbols for each module make this status monitoring system even more flexible. If you would like to do so, you can mount the display panel using adapters or directly with mounting studs.

The multi-legend alarm indicator complies with EN 45545 and offers connection options for up to 36 symbols per module in a voltage range of 24 VDC to 110 VDC.

The capacitive sensor door handle is an intuitive switching system. It activates electronic unlocking when a hand comes close to it or the active surface is touched, with the result that doors are very easy to open. 

Conforms to TSI PRM

This modern door handle integrates perfectly into any design. New train generations in Europe in particular must comply with the TSI PRM technical specification; this defines the requirements for people with disabilities or restricted mobility in rail transport – including for universal toilets. This door handle fulfils those specifications. It activates electronic unlocking, meaning that the doors can be opened with minimal physical effort. 

Intuitive LED status indication

An intuitive LED status indicator on the top end of the handle provides additional comfort. All metal parts on the sensor door handle are made from stainless steel. On request, EAO will customise the capacitive sensor door handle for your specific application, for example by using a shorter handle length.
